ALTER makes a splash! Meticulously crafted in CGI with total spontaneity, ALTER creates liquid CGI. Inspired by our “Lady of the Lake” Tracy Locke came to us. Working on Lipton campaign, TL worked closely with ALTER exploring and experimenting, to develop the perfect splash, framing their newest campaign with the fabulous Lady Antebellum captured by photographer Mathew Rolston. ALTER is master with liquid CGI.

2FAKE aka Absolut Motion is the creation of Nicolas Rieben, Brooklyn based digital artist whose studio specializes in sensational CGI. Producing outrageous work with extraordinary detail and precision, let’s watch what they created in the virtual world of 3D animation to show what’s possible. Now Watch : ) 2F_OMEGA_BIG_04

2FAKE! Creative studio specializing is custom CGI for advertising founded by Swiss-born artist and sculptor Nicolas Rieben. With his signature style, embracing clean design with cutting edge technology, Nicolas and his superb team develop art in the virtual world. Nicolas’s early period was 20 years, creating sculptures for public spaces displayed in streets of Europe. With a unique understanding of line and form, lighting and perspective, his imagination is apparent. With dynamic software available today, 2FAKE artwork exemplifies integration of backgrounds, subject matter and photographed objects in virtual worlds with seamless results. Driven by creative forces, the inveterate sculptor never rests….

2FAKE, YES Solid Gold CGI. When Mother called, that hot New York ad agency, to develop this golden totem pole, their idea to launch Revel the Nightclub, we jumped at the chance to work with these super cool creatives. Mother and Revel, four stories of party, plus two artists at 2Fake, equals one AWESOME work!!! To quote their copy, “Revel, on a different level”… that’s what I say about 2Fake, cgi on a different level. Thank you Nico!!

Only from 2FAKE! CGI in molecules! Team One dreamed (and sold) the idea for Lexus to portray their newest vehicle in abstract but grandiose style and here’s what they created with 2FAKE.
Creator of 2FAKE, Nicolas Rieben, shares a passion for science fiction with 19th century author Jules Verne, a French writer who started this genre with “20,000 Thousand Leagues Under the Sea.” This story inspired our CGI ensemble. The notion of travel as adventure, imagining life inside the Nautilus submarine, 2FAKE created these images. You have the embodiment of supernatural and a wonderful existence, where past and future merge. As Msr. Verne said, “It is nothing but love and emotion; it is the ‘Living Infinite….” And yes, on our horizon, look to see much more….all in CGI by 2FAKE.

Great relationships make work into play! When Senior Art Producer, Wylie Moran called 2FAKE to create CGI brand elements in this Manpower ad, she wanted distinguished artistry. Visionary cgi to compliment this beautiful photograph. Art Director Matt Davis found this gorgeous image a year before and wanted to use for this special execution of his concept for this client. We really appreciate Wylie giving 2FAKE this fresh opportunity to rekindle our friendship that’s spanned several years. We’re proud of these CGI building blocks by 2FAKE with image by Nick Melidonis, Australian photographer, for Martin Agency. This collaboration illustrates the essence of teamwork essential in the successful creative exchange.
Why 2Fake? Why CGI? Why not? When Jack Daniels launched their new Highball in Japan, they had just one can for artist reference. 2Fake Director Nicolas Rieben creates CGI in this realm of virtual photography. Masterfully, Nico created the perfect rendering. Why, because 2Fake is master of still life in CGI. Tokyo subway installation blown up wall size was spectacular. What do you think?

When Nicolas Rieben, creator of 2Fake announced he’s traveling to Africa with his father and six-year old daughter, the excitement in him was overwhelming. Being Swiss, he was bred with that European mentality that if it’s August – you take vacation. No guilt! You just do it! But Nico is such a responsible man while still being the consummate artist, he would never leave his clients without the support team in place – he needs to complete every assignment that he’s accepted. So when he sent me this image as his symbol of what to expect “Summer at 2Fake” to look like, all I could do was laugh, and of course think, ‘I’ve got to show the world’. Until you know him, you’ll never completely understand his wit, his warmth, and his dark side. I am so fortunate I do. To celebrate our departures for summer holidays, we had an amazing dinner before he left with my daughter, dining at this fabulous Korean restaurant in Williamsburg that Nico loves (very very cool) and had the most delicious time. See ‘work in progress’ from 2Fake studio here too!

ALTER never ceases to amaze. Working in concert, every discipline under one roof, they produce images with no boundaries. Spanning time and space, ideas abounding, no limitations. Whether it’s ‘historical’ captured moments like ‘Gladiators,’ showcasing Eric Sahrmann’s exquisite photography, or capturing a boy in a modern day school room with extra pizzazz (wait n’see in future blog). There is no limit to what ALTER does. Oh yeah, top-notch conceptual thinking, high-end photo production (including casting, styling, wardrobe, props, set construction, splashing, swirling)-and that’s just photography. Then ALTER launches into realm of CGI! Hold onto your hats-it’s like being shot out of canon! From physical to virtual where ‘anything’ is possible. At ALTER extraordinary CGI artists work side-by-side with phenomenal digital artists to create whatever! Here’s a little something they did in their ’spare’ time. Transcend time and space. Think ALTER and go!

ALTER brings it home. Can you imagine the thrill to receive “thanks” email on Sunday evening from our client? Yes, ad agency ‘partner’ – last night! After ALTER worked tirelssly for weeks creating CGI (organics are challenging in collaborative process leading to animation) to develop perfect images. Sketches, tweaks, revisions, back n’forth is integral part of it all. ALTER made it totally worthwhile when this arrived: ’Thanks to you and your team for working so hard to deliver exactly what the client is looking for. It’s GREAT.”

ALTER CG artists, distinguished group of specialists, create organic images including animals, plants and, YES! humans. I’m making a big deal of this artistry because recently I read in PDN Nov issue, “CG artists still haven’t been able to make human beings look real.” Well, meet Ben cgi by ALTER. In all his many incarnations: wire frame, model, textured, they built this handsome guy as CGI human. I am very proud of this amazing CG team at ALTER.

Testimonials are an effective way to share other reactions (than my own) to the work I am so proud to represent. When I e-blasted these CGI images created by the phenomenal artists at 2FAKE, imagine how gratifying to have the response come right back that said: ’WOW! That’s really awesome work. Thanks for sending.’ Our intention is to inform and educate the creativing community about the work from 2FAKE. CGI offers opportunities and challenges, creating artwork that’s impossible to to capture through photography, less effective with illustration. Exploring the ‘virtual’ world with ‘virtual’ photography through research, sketches, and like the sculptor, create the model, add texture, then light, you reach the final phase of the process, and retouch; the outcome is beyond the limit where we could go before now with expanding technology. The realm of new possibility renders an exciting place to live, especially with the superb 2FAKE!

Watching 2Fake work is watching the Masters! Nicolas Rieben, Head of CGI was a sculptor for 20 years working in wood at a size double his near 6′ tall height. His attention went to precision, form, detail. Now 2Fake builds CGI for advertising clients from the premier studio of 2Fake in Williamsburg. Moving from “physical” to “virtual” was an obvious transition with the new wave from iPad technology – print comes to life, websites want motion, man needs to fly. Software from Hollywood takes 2Fake CGI from print to animation. So move it!

Top notch Art Buyer asked me recently if Alter could create bubbles, not just ordinary bubbles, but iridescent, shimmering, luminous bubbles, shining with a lustrous sparkle; she emphasized the amount of research that went into the study of her client’s product. She wanted “glow” emanating from their form – and to be sure that Alter would follow the agency’s creative direction. With these samples we won her confidence – and the work.

2Fake is “hot” from their new project. With their brains buzzing, pulling inspiration from science/tech world for engineering CGI superstructures, 2Fake’s artists go to the end of the Earth and beyond. While we can”t reveal more now, here’s a preview of next Archive ad. Yin-yang drives this pair.
CGI or NOT – DON’T TEXT AND DRIVE!

When iPad hit the market, Hill Holiday was first with new Liberty Mutual campaign. Under tight deadline, they came to 2Fake to make it ‘real’ with custom CGI. The message to kids was real too. Creatives at the agency spread the word about how great the guys at 2Fake are under pressure.

CINEMA-QUALITY CGI
When Leo Burnett needed to portray cinema-quality imagery for Samsung’s new 4G smartphone, they came to Alter - and our expertise in photography, digital imaging and CGI allowed us to deliver the stunning, blockbuster graphics that you see here. The only thing missing is popcorn.
