I was running through Madison Square Garden last week when I saw gigantic blowups of NBA superstars. I was in awe! Realizing that Paul Aresu photographed everyone of these guys in his own inimitable style really struck me. If you’ve ever photographed a celebrity, you know you get five minutes – if you’re lucky. Paul Aresu‘s relationship with these players is established instantly. So bam! Paul hits the ground running on these assignments. Imagine, you’ve waited all day, driven to location, set up lighting, sat around waiting for these giants of the sport to arrive (who are sometimes an hour and half late) and you’ve got this one abbreviated moment to capture this compelling image that gets blown up fifteen feet high or is posted where millions view.
